Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Last night was a blast. We went to see the Norfolk Tides play baseball...I actually loathe watching baseball on tv, because I find it to be slow and blah...but I like going to the park and being in the middle of all the action :) I went to games with my dad growing up. We went to a few Atlanta Braves games, spring training games in Orlando...and I even got to see Michael Jordan play baseball in his short-lived (baseball) career. However, Justin and Alana have never been to a game. I wasn't sure how Alana would do, but she was amazing through ALL 9 innings! Justin really enjoyed it. He's a guy's guy, though...so you can't really go wrong with any kind of sporting event. The military actually had a bbq before the game, so we got free food and free baseball. Gotta love that! The peanuts and cotton candy, however, were not free :) As if that wasn't enough excitement, we came home and Justin got an email asking for permission to play one of his songs on XM radio. He entered a contest through myspace...so that's cool, too! Ok, well enough blogging for now...I have to go finish unpacking today!

Update on car.

The part to fix my car cost $2.04...Yes, that's the same as a coke from McDonald's. Hallelujah, Thank you, Jesus...Forever and ever. Amen.

Of course, we have to pay the towing and the diagnostics or whatever, but still...I will have a working vehicle again!

Let's get ready to rumble!

This is what happens when you get Navy guys together for a "birthday party"...It turns into being the WWE in your backyard. But I am thankful to at least HAVE a backyard for my hubby to wrestle in. Really it was a birthday party for Justin's friend, Chris. It was a fun day, and I got to meet a few of the guys Justin works with. My favorite part of the day would probably have to be Justin's "House Rules" that he made each person who entered the front door read...#1 "No Cussin' In Front of Alana...#2 "No Takin' the Lord's Name in Vain"...I can honestly say that I didn't hear any of the above the entire day, and that made me very proud :) The saying "He cusses like a sailor" doesn't come from nowhere! They were all very respectful and played amazingly well with Alana. So in my book, they are all invited back! On a sadder note, my car is dead. Not sure what happened to it, but this is really inconvenient, considering we only have one car to begin with. All I can do is be thankful that we live so close to the base, so Justin can carpool while the car is at the mechanic (or "car doctor" as Alana calls it). I am back to reality tomorrow...Back to the treadmill, haha! For now, I'm going to savor the last moments and watch "Happy Feet" with Justin and Alana. And p.s. Please do not report me to the law for the fighting going on in my backyard. I promise there was no betting on the matches and no one was treated inhumanely :)

A Bang-up Job

I almost forgot...Alana got her first haircut last week. I broke down and cut her bangs. I was so tired of not being able to see her cute and dimple-smiled face. So here 'tis.

I moved...and Jeff, I have a blog.

Ok, so I apologize for the mega picture post...but I wanted to share my new home with all of my faithful friends and blog readers. And I wanted proof that I really have been too busy to blog lately. All is well, and I am loving our new pad. I miss my friends that lived so close in Newport News, but I love being so close to Justin's ship. My dad was a trooper, and he helped me put together and build and fix more things than I'm sure he cares to relive...then again, he loves that stuff. I can't quite put my finger on it, but this place has a much better vibe than the last. My mom insists it's the hardwood floors...she says that they have that effect. I'm not so sure about that, but I know that this new home we have makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's a good thing too, since I spend much time here! I'm still unpacking, as it seems to be a never-ending process. But I promise to be a better blogger from here on out! I'm writing this as if anyone still reads :)

Springfield, Here I Come!

With all the Simpsonizing going on, I decided to put my own face to the test. There aren't as many "abnormalities" as I have so you have to use your imagination :) We have two more days until we pick up keys for our new place. I am so tired, but I have finished most of what I can until Friday comes! My mom will be here tomorrow, so I am super excited about that...Mommy needs a break and Grammy is always willing to step right in. I'll keep updating as the week progresses!

One man's junk...

Oh great, before we know it I will be so famous that weirdos will create fake profiles for me...Haha, JUST kidding. I have been sort of non-existent (at least in the blogging world) for a week or so. There is a lot going on, but it's all been good. Justin should be home tomorrow sometime, which I am extremely excited about! It's so annoying having such an amazing husband and not being able to see him. We just keep reminding ourselves that this is just a stepping stone to our next phase of life...one where we will be together a lot more often :) I finished selling all the stuff I wanted to get rid of...I managed to make over $400 doing so, and then I went to IKEA last weekend and bought Alana new bedroom furniture...and we got a new dining room table and chairs. I mean, my table rocked...well, it would have if I was 60 years old and lived in Miami. Some of you have seen the "Golden Girls' table" that I had...it HAD to go. And of course, I had a few offers on it...then I sold it to the "Blind in one eye" guy. Don't ask. I had to warn Justin of what I was doing, because otherwise I knew he would come home tomorrow and all of our furniture would be gone...and we have a bunch of boxes in the dining room. I'm not putting the new stuff together until we move...Let's let the movers take the stuff and carry it up the stairs...and then my most favorite dad can put them together :) Two of the boxes weigh 125 lbs, and two weigh just shy of 100...I had to unload them all with the help of Natalia...and my back is still paying for that. I've decided that you can sell just about anything on craigslist. I laughed so hard that I cried at some postings...Natalia said she could sell her toenails on there and someone would probably buy them haha. Then again, she didn't believe that I could sell my table for more than $5...So it's off to the dentist for me again today. Hopefully this will be my last trip in a LONG time...other than my regularly scheduled cleanings, of course! And then there's the packing thing...The moving company came to do a walk-thru yesterday and assured me that this would be an easy move. Now THAT'S what I like to hear! I'm gonna go see what other kind of junk I can turn into treasure...Please people, do not try to impersonate me. It will be impossible. I am too, too "special".
