Bella!

"One moment can change your life forever"

That's the tagline from the movie "Bella", which I recently watched after hearing rave reviews about it from one of my friends from church. I must admit, it was nothing like what I had expected...but it was definitely a movie I would recommend watching--especially if you are into good, moral story lines. I know, that's kind of a rarity in Hollywood. I don't want to give too much away, but I will say that I feel that it has a powerful message that could open people's eyes!

Here's the synopsis:
An international soccer star (Eduardo Verastegui) is on his way to sign a multi-million dollar contract when a series of events unfold that brings his career to an abrupt end. A beautiful waitress (Tammy Blanchard), struggling to make it in NYC, discovers something about herself that she's unprepared for. In one irreversible moment, their lives are turned upside down...until a simple gesture of kindness brings them both together, turning an ordinary day into an unforgettable experience.

I should add that while it's rated PG-13, I don't recall one curse word in the entire film...I think that was simply because of some slightly graphic scenes that were necessary for effect. Oh, and the lead actress totally reminds me of Norah Jones :)

When I watched this movie, I felt like it had an even greater impact, considering some of the issues at hand in the current presidential election. I have become consumed (by politics) for the past week or so, but I feel that it's SO incredibly important to be educated...and the only way we educate ourselves is to find the facts. I have great hope for the future of the United States, but obviously everyone has to do their own part to keep that alive! This election has proven to be even more important to me, considering the man who is elected will ultimately be my husband's boss.

So go rent Bella...Watch it and let me know what you think! While you are doing that, I will try and figure out what's going on with the Ikes.

Peace, Love and Subtitles

I am familiar with the movie Bella, although I haven't seen it yet. It's one of the movies I really want to see. I heard about it on the Switchfoot boards. Doesn't Jon Foreman have a song on the soundtrack? I think that's the one. I'm going to have to see if I can find it and watch now. I'm woefully behind on movie watching. LOL
