They aren't over yet, but I am admittedly still watching...The VMAs. I didn't even know MTV still showed music videos, but apparently they have awards for them. So here's my take on what I've seen, because I'm calling it a night soon. First of all, Britney Spears...Love that she is getting her life back together! I watched last year as she crashed and burned...But tonight, she worked it before she even walked onto the stage! And then...she won the Female Video of the Year. I suppose I have those underdog kind of hopes for her. She will make a comeback. She will. So as soon as the tool of a host came out (Russell Brand), he began going on about how everyone should vote for Barack Obama. Now, I'm not telling anyone who to vote for...but the way I see it, there are a lot of impressionable people of voting age whose only political exposure is from things like watching the VMAs. Sad, yes...but frighteningly true. It just irritates me that Hollywood is so partial. These people, young and old for that matter, will vote like robots for whoever they are told to...not even having the slightest clues about a candidates stance on anything... And I kid you not, they are even putting it out there on Nick Jr in between SpongeBob episodes...Nothing about McCain, or any other candidates...Just Obama. But back to the VMAs. Russell Brand, who is apparently famous in England...should go back there...He referred to President Bush as a "retarded cowboy". I almost turned it off right then and there...but it's like a bad wreck, you don't want to look but you feel like you have to see what's happening. So it went from that to him making fun of Sarah Palin's daughter and boyfriend....making fun of the Jonas Brothers for wearing promise rings (about a million times). Luckily Jordin Sparks was big enough to say something back about it. The highlight of my watching has been seeing the little glimpses of Travis Barker drumming with DJ AM. Thought Katy Perry was going to sing with him, and she did...but it got cut off. I actually enjoyed watching Pink perform, though! Looks like no awards for Katy. One for Brit Brit (so far). And I'm giving my own personal award to Russell Brand for the Jerk of the Century. Go home!
Seriously, this world is slowing going down the drain...And me--I'm done ranting. For now. :)
Peace, Love and all over the place reviews.

I watched the awards one year. I haven't been brave enough to try again.
A lot of young people seem enamored with McCain. I am having a difficult time seeing how Obama is any different than any other Democratic candidate.
Oops, I meant enamored with Obama, not McCain. That's what I get for posting while sleep-deprived.
