Justin's Easter Sunday

While most of us were going to church in our Sunday best and hunting Easter eggs a couple of days ago, Justin was floating around in the ocean on the other side of the world. He barely knew it was Easter :) I am posting this to the best of my knowledge, so don't hold the lack of details against me...On Sunday, the granddaughter of Dwight D. Eisenhower was aboard the Ike. This was a huge deal, and the "big wigs" came through to make sure that the bake shop was in order. Her name is Mary Jean Eisenhower. She made a special trip to the bake shop (which Justin is now in charge of) and baked her grandmother's sugar cookie recipe with them. It was a really special thing...Justin said she is very nice, and he got praised on the way the bake shop was in order. This morning, Justin sent me some pictures. Bear with the peace signs he likes to throw up in every picture. I have had this discussion with him already :)

Justin and his "crew"...
I forget their names, so sorry!

Making the sugar cookie recipe?
The bake shop crew with Mary Jean

Ike's Granddaughter, Mary Jean Eisenhower.

And the finished product?
I am making partial assumptions, because Justin told me the story the other day and sent the pictures today with little explanation. He did tell me people's names, but I have a bad memory :) He is getting some much-deserved fresh air today, so that is a blessing! I guess he gets a little excitement out there on the Ike-a-traz every now and again...

Peace, Love and Goofy red hats.

I imagine missing holidays with family is pretty tough on everyone sometimes. :( The cookies look pretty good, though. And Mary is def. cute. :) Gotta love peace signs, especially considering the location. LOL

Take care and God's blessings,
Melanie
